The Sharing Table Project is the name given to a unique church-wide effort that is really a journey that began officially on March 11, 2023 with an all-church meeting held in Fellowship Hall …with 50 members participating …on a Saturday morning. The Sharing Table Project is about the future vision and the mission & ministry of this church.
At that March 11th all-church gathering, working together, members & youth in attendance…
- Identified the ‘Strengths’ of this congregation, creating a ‘word cloud’ that features our strengths and is visible in our church building and in our publications
- Worked on a vision for what we want people to say about FPCV 25 years from now
- Identified some possible actions that can use our strengths to live into our vision for the future how this church and how we will continue to be a welcoming, accepting, vibrant church that stays strong in its commitment to mission both locally and beyond.
Listed priorities identified by the congregation that should get funding and resources:
- Care for Our Facilities
- Outreach and Communication
- Funding the Mission Plan
- Grow Community Partnerships
- Grow Faith Formation/Learning Programs
In support of these priorities with an original funding target of $600,000… the members of this congregation pledged an astounding $790,508 to The Sharing Table Project with 3-year commitments due 7.31.2026.  Ask anyone who’s been around FPCValpo for a few decades, this is an historically unprecedented accomplishment.
As of December 2025, over 88% of pledged funds have been received and there have been investments in each of the prioritized areas.
But we’re not done yet. FPC Valpo is a growing, ‘vibrant’ congregation that is living into its Vision.
